Muhammed Saleem is the first secretary in the Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa. He is responsible for counseling, the visa and the passport section.

This guy is really strange but then again he might be having a bad day when i met him.
Pakistan’s foreign office should seriously look into how Muhammed Saleem was sent to a country where the basic rights are standard of living for every individual; where people will not sit in silence when being abused by a person who is in Canada to server the best interest of Pakistan and Pakistani people. Majority of Pakistani community in Ottawa feels isolated, victimized and targeted by Muhammed Saleem’s rude and obnoxious behavior. Pakistan is at a point in time when the entire nation, its embassy’s abroad and Pakistanis living outside of country need to work together to a promising tomorrow. It’s very difficult to deal with a cow boy whose behavior and attitudes resemble Hitler. I’m willing to bet Mr. Saleem’s last tenure was somewhere in the Middle East and just like the people in the Middle East; he is using the high commission in Ottawa as his personal playground for power trips.
We are a local travel agency in Ottawa because of Muhammad Saleem we don’t even answer a phone from the Pakistan High Commission.
Since he was there without high commissioner for a while i’m sure he will clean up his act. Now that the new High Commissioner is here and he is from a very strong family (Miangul Aurangzeb the last Wali Ahad of Swat State). There is no way he is going to allow Mr.Mo to carry on as he has with the community members.
I am livid. This whole episode is the most inhumane treatment I have ever witnessed in my life. And I cannot believe someone at our own embassy would treat Pakistani Canadians in this manner. Members of the community are being driven to the brink by this fellow. Is there any accountability?

Some of you may feel if you speak out you will be further targeted by Muhammad Saleem but remember he will keep doing it until the community speaks out. Cowards are those who let themselves get abused. All of the people above should either shut up or fight for your rights. Pakistan embassy in Canada belongs to Pakistan and You.

The process to have some sort of public relation or attitude screening before people are sent to this part of the world I’m sure is a mandatory step and that’s why I’m wondering how person like Mr. Saleem is allowed to represent Pakistan in Canada. There must be plenty of complaints about Muhammad Saleem, I know I sent one myself but there has been no effect or change of behavior. He continues to do what he pleases. People are now very distant from the Pakistan High commission in Ottawa and we hope the new ambassador takes serious steps to investigate Saleem’s activities. I feel sad that it had to come to this. The frustrations had to reach a tipping point without being resolved at internal level and people had to post comments on an external site to vent. I thought of calling the local media myself but already Ottawa citizen newspaper made a big deal on Imam of main mosque not having proper English accent and I didn’t want additional bad press for Pakistan or for the community.
If we are talking about the same guy – he is mentally disturbed. I once called to ask some questions about getting a visa. He simply said, “don’t tell me how to do my job” wow was the only thing I could say. Thank you for your help and hung up. Never called since, never went to Pakistan and have no desire to talk to anyone at the embassy any more.
Still, ostensibly, I feel humiliated, short-changed by a person who is in Canada to look after the best interest of my country and myself. Someone needs to really take this matter seriously before it goes any further. There is no way this person is a normal person, his harassment acts cannot be just isolated to the community and businesses in Ottawa; it for certain must also be penetrative to employees working under him. Some steps need to be taken by the new high commissioner Mian Gul Akbar Zeb to make sure Muhammed Saleem treats the people he serves with respect and dignity they deserve.
I worked with him and all of the above is true, he is difficult with people he works with and very difficult with the public also.

Saleem is by far the worst diplomat i have come across. there is no way he has a decent academic background and i’m sure he was abused as a child. Sending my complaint directly to the Foreign minister, does anyone have Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir’s email address in Pakistan?
He is the talk of the community – lot of people hate his guts and all for good reason. i would say pakistan should have mystery shoppers to weed out bad apples in the embassy’s but he is abusing people openly and has no regrets so no mystery shoppers needed for this a-hole. apparently he treats people very bad because the Canadian embassy in islamabad treated him or someone he knows in the same manner. who cares how he was treated and what does that have to do with pakistani community in ottawa. this is really upsetting; i’m writing to the foreign office in pakistan myself. His bullshit needs to end.
